Obituary

A rose blossomed in the lives of the late William J. Kemper and Willa Smedley Kemper on May 5, 1941 when they welcomed a daughter, Willa Mae Kemper.

Our Mother was raised in the loving community of Lincoln Heights, Ohio, amongst family and many friends. She enjoyed meeting new people and treasured her friendships.

Mother was educated in the Lincoln Heights School System and graduated from Lincoln Heights High School in 1959. Mrs. Willa M Clisby and Mr. George Clisby, Jr. were united in holy matrimony on May 19,1962 and was blessed with three children.

Mother was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Lincoln Heights, Ohio under the pastorship of Rev. James Wesley Jones, Sr. She was a member of the Senior usher Board where she served faithfully. She was employed with Procter and Gamble Corporation and retired in May, 1997 after 21 years of service.

In April, 2006, Mother relocated to Sylacauga, Alabama. She immediately joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the pastorship of Rev. Doyal Cook. She served on the Senior Usher Board.

Our mother was kind hearted, loving and giving. Often giving her very last to anyone in need. Mother loved reading her Bible and encouraged others to do the same. In times of trouble, mother always encouraged us to read Psalm 37.

Our dear mother departed this life to be with Our Lord and Savior on February 5,2020 at her residence surrounded by loved ones. Mother was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Stewart Lee Kemper.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: daughter, Anita Louise (Edward) Carter; sons; Derrick Lamar (Veronica) Clisby of Columbus, Ohio and Erick Lamont (Lisa) Clisby of Cincinnati Ohio; the Apple of her Eye-Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; Brandon, JaCorey, Ambria, Jalen, Devin, Kortni, Samari, Makiaya and Brandon, Jr. (BJ); Sister, Charlotte K. Clisby; Brother, Robert (Bobby) L. Kemper of Cincinnati, Ohio; loving and devoted caregivers: Frances Townsend, Pam Burns, Cynthia Wilson-Price and Patricia Looney; Special Friend, Mr. Henry L. Sanders, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
