Mrs. Sharon Diane (Traylor) McKinney’s life journey began on May 27, 1951, in Sylacauga, Alabama to the (late) parents of Mr. Jerry Louis Traylor and Mrs. Cleopatri (Harris) Traylor. She was the first-born daughter and eldest sister to Mrs. Robin (Traylor) Lee and Ms. Regina Traylor.
Throughout the years, she was a devoted servant of God and served in several capacities. Her most faithful acts of her Christianity were realized when she became an Evangelist; a member of The Warehouse by Dr. Juanita Bynum; and a member of LaTrice Ryan’s Kingdom’s Sniper. She encouraged the masses with daily posts of inspiration on her social media accounts.
Sharon united in matrimony to the love of her life, Mr. Cedrick L. McKinney on January 14, 2000, in a ceremony that only she and Cedrick attended. They loved each other so much that they were married again on May 27, 2000, at a wedding ceremony that included close friends and family. At the time of their union, she became the bonus mom to Cynthia Caldwell. Cedrick was her pride and joy.
She prayed for and with many who would become like her very own children. Evangelist Sharon was a true prayer warrior. The bond she shared with her nieces, great niece, and great nephews was like none other. She was their biggest supporter and cheerleader. There wasn’t a picture or occasion that she didn’t let them know just how proud she was of them.
On Friday, October 6, 2023, at the University of Alabama Hospital, the Lord called one of his most faithful servants home to be with His heavenly host. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Mr. Jerry Louis Traylor and Mrs. Cleopatri (Harris) Traylor.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Mr. Cedrick McKinney of Sylacauga, AL, bonus daughter Cynthia Caldwell of Anniston, AL;, sister Robin (Traylor) Lee of Sylacauga, AL; sister Regina Traylor of Hampton, GA; sister-in-law Anita Huntley of Sylacauga, AL; sister-in-law Gloria Johnson of Sylacauga, AL; brother-in-law Eddie McKinney, Jr. of Sylacauga, AL; 2 nieces, 1 great niece, 3 great nephews and a host of bonus nieces, nephews, community children, and friends.
