Shamel Dior Smith was born on January 25, 2006 at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens, New York to the parentage of Kimbalisha Smith and LeShaun Dinkins.
A Time to Plant
Shamel was a current senior at Clay Chalkville High School in Clay, Alabama. He was a three time bronze wrestler and excelled in this sport.
A Time to Embrace
Shamel began his new chapter at the age of 11 with Marlon and Phylis Spencer where he overcame many challenges and learned how to achieve greatness.
A Time to Build
Shamel was an excellent barber to his family and friends. His aspiration was to become a Master Barber and entrepreneur. He wanted to be a well sought out professional in the hair care industry.
A Time to Love
Shamel was energetic, lovable and a silly person who loved spending time with his family. He made them laugh, smile and had a passion for providing for his siblings. His barbering skills allowed him to create a better life for them. Shamel was kind hearted, a giver and an all- around joy to all he came in contact with.
A Time to Die
Shamel exchanged time for eternity on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was preceded in death by father; LeShaun Dinkins; grandmother; Jeanette Smith; and grandfather; Lawrence Craig Cannon, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Mother; Kimbalisha Smith; two brothers; Cedric E. Smith; Chester Mitchell; seven sisters; Jeanette J. Smith- Settles; Divenna A. Smith; Amber R. Gonzalez; Kimbalisha C. Smith; Kalisha S. Smith; Dakota C. Smith; Chastity I. Smith; Aunts; Melissa Smith; Noel M. Mashburn(Tuval); uncles; Reginald Smith(Jacqueline); Kevin Spencer; Courtney Smith; Lawrence Craig Cannon, Jr.(Johnnie); three special nephews; Nolyand Ebinger, Bryson D. Ebinger and Roscoe D. Williams. He also leaves behind a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
