Mr. Richard Goodwin began life’s journey on February 15, 1948 to the parentage of the late
Reverend Willis and the late Mrs. Adell Goodwin of Wedowee, AL.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and personal savior at an early age, and joined Cannan Baptist
Church and remained faithful until his transition.
On Thursday May 30, 2024 a loving father, brother, grandfather, great- grandfather, and uncle
answered the Master’s call at Tanner Medical Center- East Alabama in Wedowee, AL. God in
his special way, at his perfect time, picked from our midst this sweet soul and added him to his
heavenly garden where his spirit will bloom forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Rev. Willisand Adell Goodwin; seven brothers, and
four sisters.
Memories of Richard will forever live in the hearts of his son: Jay R. Holbert Sr., of Daytona, OH;
One Sister: Catherine (Curtis) Spidell of Wedowee, AL. Five grandchildren: Ja’ Kaijuh Holbert,
Ke’Juan Holbert, Jay R. Holbert Jr., Jaylah Holbert, Hannah Holbert all of Dayton, OH. A special
