Mr. Ernest Bell Jr Obituary

Mr. Ernest S. Bell Jr., was born July 18,1947 in Randolph County, Alabama to the parentage of the Late Ernest  Bell Sr., and Mrs. Zera (Whatley) Bell. At an early age he joined the Macedonia Baptist Church and was a dedicated member there. Later in his life he moved his membership to New Life Worship Center in Roanoke under the leadership of Bishop Lathonia J. Wright. Ernest served his country during the Vietnam War from July 1968 to June 1969. Private First Class Bell performed his duties in an Exemplary manner participating in three major combat operations, Including: Operations Scotland, Dewey Canyon, and Lancaster, he repeatedly distinguished himself by his courage and composure under fire. Constantly concerned for the combat readiness of his unit, he tirelessly trained his men and molded them into an effective fighting force. Private First Class Bell Leadership, Professional competence and steadfast devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself, the Marine Corps and the Naval Service; Therefore he was presented multiple awards: The Navy Achievement Medal, The National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device Rifle Marksman Badge,One Star Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon. Having served his nation in two different branches Mr. Bell later was Honorably discharged.

On Monday December 14,2020 having lived the life that was pleasing unto our master Ernest Bell Jr., answered the call for Heaven at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, Alabama. Ending a 73 year, 4 month, 26 day journey as a faithful father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers. He leaves behind to cherish his fond memories: Son Gregory L. Ware of Morgan, Ga. Two Daughters Rhonda and Felita Ware of Roanoke, AL. Three sisters: Nancy Brown of Roanoke, AL; Frances (Chris) Howell of Lafayette, AL;Yvonne Bell of Mobile, AL. Four brothers: Zebedde (Laronna) of Hyatterville, M.D., Fred (Malinda) Bell of Riverdale, Ga; Brady (Minnie) Bell. Isaiah (Rita) Bell both of Roanoke, AL. Four Grandhildren: Marcus A. Ware of Washington, D.C., Marqueta Ware, and Sereathan Johnson both of Roanoke, AL., and Selebrity Ware of Savannah, Ga. Four Great Grandchildren: Trustin Phillips, Elise Pogue, Nyhan Hardy, and Allysh Johnson all of Roanoke. A Special Nephew: Corey M. Winston
