Cedric Elton Swain was born on October 15, 1962 to Norman and Wilhelmina Swain. He departed this life on March 27, 2024 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, John Fenton Swain and Harry Dean Twyman.
Cedric was a 1981 graduate of Talladega High School. He married Cynthia Spratling and joined the U.S. Navy where he served and was discharged. He returned home to Talladega. In 2022 he moved to Ashland, AL where he lived out his life until he made his final journey and went to rest.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a dedicated lifelong partner of 20+ years, LaStella Chappell, who chose exclusive devotion to his caregiving giving him her undying love.

he leaves to cherish his memories three step-children
Desi (Faith) Spratling, Demetrius (Deneisha) Spratling , and Sheika Spratling - his Princess - “He was my Daddy and I am his Princess!” As he would say “My Pooh!”
Michael Lamar Swain was born to their union and later he was privileged to have Xzavier Demetrius and Quindarius Rashaude Swain. He leaves sisters, Geraldine Twyman of Sylacauga, AL and Sheila Chappell (Cecil) of Anniston, AL., brothers, Lawarren Lee and Norman Fitzgerald (Tina) of Talladega, AL. an adopted brother, John David Haynes Jr. of Talladega, AL and a faithful brother from another mother who has supported him with selfless love and dedication, Cedric Garrett. He leaves 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cedric will forever be remembered for his infectious spirit of dance, laughter and singing. He no longer has to suffer and has relinquished the cares of this world!!
