Mr. Jural Dewayne Banks was born in Shelby County, AL to the union of Mr.Truman and Mrs. Maybelline Banks on November 19, 1973. He united with Bakers Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Mr. Jural Dewayne Banks, affectionately known to most as “Dino”, but to his loved ones he was simply, “Woney.”
Woney was an alumnus of Vincent High School, class of 1991. In 1992 he joined the United States Navy where he was stationed and served in Norfolk, VA and USS JFK. Later, he became a cement mason and worked under the leadership of B&B Contractors, Peterson Concrete and Cadell.
Woney was devoted to his family and friends and especially his brothers who are affectionately known as “The Banks Boys.” He was a faithful and supportive fan of The Alabama Crimson Tide. You could certainly catch him on a Saturday watching Alabama Football and yelling “Roll Tide.” His family and friends are going to miss all the countless days and evenings of fun fellowship and late night hangouts in C-Well and other local communities.
On Wednesday, August 23, 2023 Woney peacefully transitioned from his 49-year earthly life journey to his new eternal heavenly home while in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones.
He leaves to cherish many warm and loving memories: Eight children, Paris Banks of Mardisville, AL, Cortney (Keonte) Estelle of Childersburg, AL, Kaylen Madison of Fultondale, AL, Emma Banks of Creswell, AL, Jasmine Jones, Jaylon Bolton, Austin Troy all of Childersburg, AL, and Kevin Johnson of Sylacauga, AL. Two brothers Antonio (Quincy) Banks, and Rondetric (Jacquliyn Johnson) Banks both of Harpersville, AL. One sister Crystal (Jack Kelly) Zachery of . Six grandchildren: Jaden Greene, Naomi and Riley Estelle, Amir Houser, Malani and Jaylon Omari Bolton. Special nieces and nephews: Brandon Banks, Jasmine Banks, Brielle Banks, Bentley Banks and Akeia Jordan.
From wife to friend, Erikka Fraizer Banks, thank you for your loyal friendship, unconditional love and immense support. To a very special friend, Lavon Robertson Garrett, thank you for your love, compassion, and unwavering support.
