Judy Ann Burney born February 11, 1950, to Young and Linnie (Appleby)Burney. Growing up on Carver Street in Lineville, Alabama, she enjoyed playing softball and running track. At an early age, she joined Springhill Baptist Church, and in her youth, she even participated in the choir. She graduated from Clay County Training School then attended a Vocational School in Anniston, Alabama. For most of her adult life, She worked tirelessly at Tyson Foods for 38 years. After she retired, a lot of her days were spent sitting on the porch enjoying time with family, friends, and “The Carver Street Crew.”
Judy Ann never married or gave birth to her own children, but certainly took time to care for family and friends that needed a place to call home. She showed love in her special way, and although she had her rules and her way, her door was always open if any of her family needed a place to stay.
She leaves to cherish her memory her brother Ricky(Vivian) Burney of Lineville, Alabama; god-sister Judy(Randy) Lawson; Two sister in laws Joann Bishop and Glenda Burney; A very special friend Willie Frank Smith of Anniston, Alabama; a niece and nephew that she raised Charlene and Allen Burney of Jacksonville, FL; children that she loved as if they were her own Chase and Noah; a nephew Gary Hardy and her best friend Willie “Frankie” Wood that she treated like her sons; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and at some point were all her favorite ones. And a host of cousins and other friends.
