Frank Lee Clisby, lovingly called "Sonny", was the youngest son of the late George Clisby, Sr. and Earline Underwood Clisby. Born on Valentine's Day, 1944, Frank was a fun-loving and kind-hearted man. He transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest on Saturday, July 3, 2021, in Douglasville, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family.
Educated in the Talladega County School System, he attended Phyllis Wheatley High School, and afterwards worked for Sylacauga Hospital and Avondale Mills. Portland, Oregon, where he was employed by and retired from Myers Container Company, would be his home for more than 40 years.
A man of great faith, he joined the congregation of the Sharon Seventh-day Adventist Church, while residing in Portland. Several years after his retirement, he journeyed back to Alabama and united with the Pine Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sylacauga where he attended faithfully until his health started to decline. Much like his older brothers, he was very fond of fine cars and motorcycles.
Loved ones who preceded him in death include his parents, his brothers, George Clisby, Jr. and John E. Clisby, and his beloved sister, Willie Elizabeth (Jean) Harmon.
He leaves a lifetime of memories to be cherished by his children, Lynn Townsend of Indianapolis, Indiana, Derrick Crawford (Kym) of Sylacauga, Alabama, Jeromye Clisby, Jamal Clisby, and Keenan Powell, all of Portland Oregon, Jon Scott Stevens of Vancouver, Washington, Kimberly LaGrone of Atlanta, Georgia, Tracey ”Dude” Matthew and Tasha (Josh) Waldon, both of Douglasville, Georgia; four sisters, Shirley Faye Croom, Frances Townsend, Maudie Wilson and Mona Keith; a special friend, Lana Clisby, who contributed unwavering support to his palliative care; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
