Mr. Dwight “Van” Johnson was born November 25,1946 to the late Rush Mc Cloud Johnson and the late Jessie Mae Walker.
Mr. Johnson accepted Christ at an early age and united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Sylacauga, AL where he was a faithful member. He attended and graduated from East Highland High School, Sylacauga, AL. Mr. Johnson was employed with Moretti Harrah Marble Company (Imery’s), Sylacauga, Al for 30 years.
Mr. Johnson departed this life on September 12th, 2019 at North Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard Johnson and Rush M. Johnson Jr. and sisters Jeanette Harrison, Marion Johnson and Rebecca J. Welch.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his daughter Meredith Oden of Sylacauga, Al, one sister Lila J. (Alvin) Grayson of Sylacauga, Al, two sister- in- laws: Irene Adams and Cora Lee Johnson both of Sylacauga, Al and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
