Dorothy Ann Hatcher was born on September 10, 1954 in Roanoke (Randolph County), Alabama to the parentage of the Late Robert Lee Hatcher, and Christine Vanhorn Hatcher.
She accepted Christ at a early age and was a member of the Saint Paul Baptist Church in Roanoke, under the leadership of Rev. Jeffery Rosser.
Dorothy received her formal education at the Randolph County Training School in Roanoke, AL.
She enjoyed employment with Terry Manufacturing, Franklin Aluminum, Tyson Foods, and Best Western.
She married the love in her life John Samuel Bailey, and to their union blossomed three beautiful children, whom she loved and adored all the way until the end.
Dorothy enjoyed her family, and especially her children, and her grandchildren, and her sister/ caregiver Angelia.
On Wednesday June 15, 2022 Dorothy transitioned from this walk of life at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika (Lee County), Alabama. Bringing an end to a life well lived that her family was very proud of.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Gloria Jean Lynch and Shirley Ann Kelley, and three brothers; Robert Hatcher Jr, Willie B Hatcher, and Tyrone Hatcher, and her close friend Doris Hughley.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children: Anthony Bailey (Cynthia Madden) of Chicago,IL, Maleesa Hurston (Jim Spratling) of Lanett, AL and Gary Bailey of Five Points, AL; her brother; John Hatcher (Dawn) of Roanoke, AL. Sister; Angelia Hatcher of FIve Points, AL. Eight grandchildren, Nine great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces,nephews, cousins, and friends.
