Jahmal Jones Obituary

Jahmal Terrell Jones was born on September 6th, 1995 at Langley Air Force Bass in Hampton, Virginia. He was the middle of three children. As a military brat, his last place that he called home was Huntsville, Al. He attended middle and high school in Huntsville, where he played on both basketball teams. He graduated from Columbia High School in 2013 with an Advanced Diploma. He went on to attend the University of Alabama for a short period. He later returned to Huntsville, where he was employed at Bill Penney Toyota as a professional salesman. He loved his job and enjoyed interacting with with all the people he came in contact with. He was constantly saying how he was “going to be rich and make sure everybody was straight!”

 

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Early Rose Missionary Baptist Church, (Alexander City, Alabama). He was a man of faith and had recently rededicated his life to Christ. He was a member of the Beacon Hill Worship Center— Beacon Butler Campus, where he was part of “The Squad”.

 

In his free time, Jahmal enjoyed many creative outlets for his visionary expression. He was an amazing artist, painter, designer, and musician. He enjoyed skateboarding, visiting museums, watching anime, traveling, and making everybody laugh. He was truly a joy to be around.

 

On Saturday, October 5th Jahmal was called home to be with the Lord. Although his death was untimely, his work on Earth was completed an we say farewell to a good and faithful servant. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, and godfather Curtis L. Paige.

 

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his loving and devoted parents Cedric and Sonya (Allen) Huntley, older brother Pershad (Mercedes) Averette and 2 nieces Zharia and Aquila Averette, younger sisters JaMaya Jones, Chynna and Jasmyn Allen, maternal grandfather Marvin Gamble Jr., maternal grandmother Martha Allen, paternal grandparents Errol (Vernita) Batts, maternal aunt and uncle Michael and Jacquette Allen, and paternal uncle Jason Batts, godmothers Vonda Morrissette, Sylvia Paige, and Santwon Walker, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, and coworkers.
